Brian G. Paul, a Partner with the firm and member of its executive committee, practices exclusively in the matrimonial area of the law, and has effectively represented clients before the New Jersey Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Superior Courts of New Jersey and the Federal Court system. Brian is one of the few attorneys in New Jersey who has earned the title Certified Matrimonial Law Attorney, meaning that our State’s highest court, the New Jersey Supreme Court, has recognized him as an expert on divorce and family law matters.

For his outstanding work in the area of Family Law, Brian has been listed in BL Rankings, LLC’s publication of Best Lawyers in America® from 2013 to 2019, and been designated as a Best Lawyers’ Princeton Metro Region “2015 Lawyer of the Year” and “2018 Lawyer of the Year.” In addition, from 2007 to present, through a rigorous selection process based upon peer voting and credentials research aimed at identifying the top 5% of all attorneys in the State of New Jersey, Brian was included in the list of New Jersey Super Lawyers™ issued by Thomson Reuters. In 2009 and 2019, the blue ribbon panel compiling the Super Lawyers™ list identified Brian as one of the Top 100 Super Lawyers™ in New Jersey. Brian has substantial experience litigating all types of family law cases, but specializes in litigating, mediating and arbitrating financially complex high net worth divorce actions. Due to his vast experience in litigating the most difficult of family law related issues. Brian is frequently asked to serve as a arbitrator/mediator or co-counsel in such cases.

A significant portion of Brian’s practice is dedicated to handling all types of divorce/family law appeals before New Jersey’s Appellate courts. Brian, who has been involved in many appellate cases that have helped shape New Jersey family law, has been awarded the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Amicus Curiae Award on five separate occasions for his efforts in representing and advocating the NJ State Bar Association’s position on family law cases before the New Jersey Supreme Court.

A member of the New Jersey bar since 1995, Brian received his Juris Doctor from Widener University School of Law in Wilmington, Delaware, where he was awarded the American Jurisprudence Award for his superior skills in Legal Research and Writing. Brian earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Rutgers College in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Brian presently serves as a co-chair of the Mercer County Early Settlement Program, and sits on the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Family Law Executive Committee and Amicus Committee.
